En la fase visual, destaca su color negro zaino con ribete caoba y densas lágrimas de yodo. O reflejos de oro viejo y marrón con un brillante color negro, casi impenetrable por la luz, muy limpio. La nariz del vino nos sugiere aromas concentrados a dátil, torrefactos y regaliz. Todo sobre un fondo de caramelo. Al tiempo se inunda el olfato con complejas sensaciones de vino viejo, de solera vieja, en el que conviven un revoltillo de pasas, dátiles, chocolate y almíbar. En boca surge la sorpresa de que es denso en su justa medida, o dicho de otra manera, es más bien licoroso con un paso dulce, muy envolvente y un final ligeramente amargo que nunca termina. Amplio y muy frutal. Potente. La madera está muy presente pero bien compensada por la fruta. Ciertamente tiene recuerdos de sidra. Bien estructurado y con correcta acidez. Final frutal con notas de nuez, almendra amarga y cítrico. Buena persistencia.
